Hey you, if nobody has told you in a while, you’re beautiful. Yes, you.

We may not be able to see you from the other side of your screen, but we believe that everyone is truly beautiful in their own unique way. How you choose to express that beauty of yours is just as individual as you. Maybe that means that cat eye you always rock, or maybe it’s the freckles spilling out all over your cheeks.

Whatever it is, it’s important that you embrace it and wear it proudly. After all, it’s what makes you, YOU!

“Natural beauty,” is a term that is often thrown around and put on a pedestal. You might have noticed beauty brands talking about how their ingredients are organic, cruelty-free, and better for your skin than ever before. We think this movement is great, but we also think it’s important to take a deeper look into what “natural beauty,” really means.

Ingredient lists aside, it’s easy to assume that natural beauty is unattainable. But before you get discouraged, know that being naturally beautiful isn’t about rolling out of bed looking like Beyoncé every morning before you even moisturize. It’s about nurturing your skin and taking care of yourself in the way that works best for you.

How to reveal your natural beauty?

The first step to revealing your natural beauty is to realize your natural beauty. It’s easy to look in the mirror and see the pimples on our faces or the kinks in our hair and feel discouraged about our appearances. However, if we choose to focus on the parts of ourselves that we like, even if it’s just one little thing, we’re one step closer to feeling confident in our own skin and ready to conquer the world with smiles on our faces.

It may sound cheesy, but it’s true. Your mind is more powerful than your eyes, and what you tell yourself is how you will see yourself.

The second step, if there is one, is finding a look that makes you feel like your best self. If you’re not into red lipstick, don’t wear it! If glittery eyeshadow makes you feel like a queen, coat it on, sister! Beauty trends come and go, but what’s most important is that you do you.

If you were born with even skin tones and never need foundation, we’re all jealous over here. If you weren’t—news flash—you’re not the only one. Most people have mixed complexions. There will be days when your concealer covers your red spots like magic, and others when absolutely nothing will tame the beast that is your pimple. Embrace both! It happens! You're human!

Once you can let go of all of the little imperfections that keep you from feeling beautiful, you’ll learn to love them. Every single person has days when they feel a whole lot less than flawless, even Beyoncé.

Yes, Beyoncé.

So keep your head up, wing that eyeliner, and keep on keepin' on. We’re rooting for you.
