Hey guys!

Today I’m going to share some top makeup tips on how to perfect your makeup for school . Sadly Summer is on it’s way out and school is around the corner so I have tried, tested and perfected a natural but flawless look that is super easy to achieve.

Perfecting Your Makeup For School

I always emphasize the importance of looking after your skin, at the end of the day your skin is your base and when you look after your skin your makeup will look its best.

Makeup for school should be a little less than you would normally wear- but that isn’t to say you won’t look fabulous! You want it to be flawless in a subtle way and easily maintainable or without any maintenance at all. So follow my simple guide and you will get just that.

Step 1

To start I like to veil the surface layer of skin with The Ordinary High Spreadability Fluid Primer. This completely evens out the skin tone and texture without leaving an unwanted residue. The formula is also completely free from oil, which encourages makeup longevity- bonus for long days!

Simply use your finger-tips to work the primer into your skin and leave it to settle for 2-3 minutes. You'll notice that your skin looks instantly revived!

Step 2

After applying your primer, it's time to apply your base. You can choose between a foundation or, if you prefer a more sheer look, try a tinted moisturizer. I have to say I do really love the Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum.

If you prefer a little more coverage, you should definitely try By Terry Cover Expert SPF15 Foundation. You know when you get a foundation and it glides onto your skin like silk, covers your blemishes, keeps you looking radiant and doesn’t look too heavy? Well this does just that!

It is one of my favorite foundations to date (and I have tried 100’s) it creates a truly enviable complexion- natural but incredibly flawless. The matte finish makes this foundation the perfect makeup for school, keeping you looking radiant and flawless while remaining natural.

Apply this foundation using Sigma's F80 Flat Kabuki Brush and a damp makeup sponge - my favorite is the Spectrum Collections SC020 Wonder Sponge. Use the brush first to apply the foundation and then simply use pat and rolling motions with the Wonder Sponge to help you achieve that flawless look.

Step 3

Concealer is my favorite product to use because even when I look like I haven’t slept for 4 days, you can never tell with some good concealer.

The Balm's TimeBalm Antiwrinkle Concealer is perfect for covering those pesky dark circles. Simply pat a little of the concealer underneath your eyes with your Wonder Sponge for a flawless coverage.

I particularly love to use this concealer because it does so much more than your regular concealer.  I don’t feel like I’m just camouflaging my dark circles, but that I am nourishing the skin around my eyes at the same time.

This concealer has anti-wrinkle properties and is packed with vitamins A, C + E and a blend of Soy Bean Oil, Panthenol and Linoleic acid to deeply nourish, hydrate and protect the delicate skin around your eyes from environmental aggressors, as well as covering up your lack of sleep!

Step 4

Next, you want to add a little color to your complexion to give you a healthy glow. Start by choosing the appropriate blusher for your skin tone - I usually use a combination of blushers from the Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek PaletteI love the colors in this palette for my skin tone and having eye shadow and blushers in the same palette makes life so much easier and so much quicker when you're in a rush!

When it comes to applying the blusher you don’t want to add too much and look like Coco The Clown, but you should apply just enough to add a delicate pop of color on your cheeks.

Blusher should be applied on the apple of your cheeks (you can see these easily when you smile) with a fluffy brush to ensure it looks subtle.

Step 5

Now lets move onto the frames of the face- brows! There’s no denying that brows either make or break your makeup.  For perfect brows every time I use High Definition Brow Define. The formula is super easy to apply and glides so smoothly.  Use the tip of the pencil to create the appearance of brow hair and use the flat of the pencil to fill in the gaps.

Step 6

What would makeup be without mascara? It simply wouldn’t be complete. I recently discovered the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and I am obsessed! I love this mascara because it doesn’t clump or become flakey and it doesn’t make my eyelashes look like spiders legs, which is never a good look!

But what is does do is lengthen and volumize the lashes, making it the perfect mascara to add to your back to school makeup routine because once you apply it in the morning, you wont need to worry about it all day long.

Step 7

To complete your makeup for school, add some quick shine to your lips. Try to stick to something nude that wont be high maintenance, so if it happens to wear down during the day it doesn’t matter.

The Chantecaille Brilliant Lip Glossis perfect for adding a little shine to your pout. Unlike other lip gloss they don’t feel uncomfortably sticky and the pigment is great!

That just about concludes how to perfect your makeup for school - I'd love to see your creations on Instagram!
