ABOUT SLIP

In 2003, slip® Co-Founder and CEO, Fiona Stewart, was prescribed acne medication which resulted in extremely sensitive skin and thinning hair. Her dermatologist suggested sleeping on a silk pillowcase. Unable to find one, she sourced the best silk she could find and wrapped it around her pillow. The results were dramatic and immediate, she’s never looked back. She had stumbled upon a long forgotten beauty secret - and slip® was born. The following year Stewart alongside partner, Justin Dubois, officially launched slip® - the first silk pillowcase to be branded and marketed as a beauty product.

All of Slip’s pillowcases and eye masks are made of silk, and for good reason. Silk has been demonstrated in helping prevent wrinkles. The idea is if you sleep on your side, or you’re a toss and turner, the pulling and tugging between your face and the pillow can cause sleep lines and wrinkles, and silk reduces that pressure.

Same goes for your hair as well! Made from similar fibers that make up your locks, silk doesn’t snag, pull, or crease the hair.

Recommended by hairstylists, beauty experts and dermatologists, Slipsilk and their products are dedicated to make sure the ultimate beauty sleep.

Benefits of Slip:

Silk is hypoallergenic, which is good for people with sensitive skin when you use a brand like Slip. The fibers have a natural resistance to dust mites, mold and other allergens. Comparatively, cotton pillowcases are super absorbent. They pick up dirt and oil from your skin, and when you sleep on the same pillowcase night after night, it can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.

Slip pillowcases are less absorbent. Your skin and hair stay moisturized because your pillowcase isn’t absorbing all of the natural oils from your skin.

Slipsilk naturally also contains amino acids. Silk amino acids are used in formulating shampoos and conditioners as well as moisturizers and body lotions because they create a protective barrier and preserve moisture. The amino acids bond with the keratin in your skin to help it regenerate as you sleep.

Silk regulates heat, which helps you maintain the correct body temperature. It also doesn’t conduct heat, so if you want to keep cool at night on humid days, go with silk. On the flip side, it retains heat during cold weather.
