A very good face oil that I use on my body!
I've tried lots of facial oils. I am devoted to a few select ones at the moment, so I am reviewing this oil based only where I have applied it: my arms. I have really finnicky skin on my upper arms, from both treating my skin with glycolic et al. (for KP & minor scarring) and from failure to resist scratching/picking dry patches or raised bits of skin. I got a 30mL bottle in my monthly LookFantastic box. The aroma is spa-like, kind of how you'd expect the room to smell when going for a nice professional massage. Personally, I love this essential oil scent (not perfume, there's a difference), it's so warm and relaxing to me. I first tested the oil on my hands & nails. It is great, it sinks in fast, no greasy oily residue to transfer all over. The place. Admittedly, I'll probably use this entire bottle of oil on my arms and chest because it feels reallllly nice on my skin. It's such a smooth, silky oil! It's not a super thin formula, and as such you get a moment to work with it instead if it disappearing into your hands, lol. After it's absorbed into my skin, I am velvety soft. I will continue to use the Monu Fiji facial oil on my arms simply because I want to. Who says you can't put face products in your arms?? I need strategic skin care on those parts too, so.. Yeah. That's what I'm doing to do. I don't expect miracles from oil (just hydrated, supple skin that isn't sloppy or greasy), but, I do I expect it to continue delivering what I've experienced so far. This could very well be an asset in my skincare routine! We must remember that what we take out of our skin (with retinoids, acids, and other actives) we must give back into our skin (with hydration, moisture, antioxidant, and OILS!!) This oil will certainly moisturize and calm down sensitive skin, even when its integrity is jeopardized (insert pic of my arms). FWIW the packaging of the sample stinks. It's cheap and I expect more from mid-level prestige brand. It's literally packaged in an opaque plastic bottle with a screw on cap. No flip top lid, no dropper, not even a transparent bottle to see the fill line as you use it up. I've had better packaged toiletries from hotels than this! I will, however, forgive this in light of the generous sample. Although I paid for it so technically it's not a sampleita a trial size that I purchased....this can go on forever. So, thanks for reading. I hope this review helps someone make a more informed decision.
