The Best Christmas Makeup Looks For 2017

Get Ready To Slay Your Christmas Makeup This year

When it comes to Christmas makeup,  it feels as though there’s an unwritten rule to rock red during the holiday season. Whilst red lipstick is great and makes you feel instantly glam, it is important to find a shade of red that flatters your skin tone.

If the idea of red lipstick frightens you, don’t stress! The makeup look I’m going to talk through would look great with literally any color lipstick.

The common rule with makeup is that if you’re making a statement out of your lips, keep the eyes fairly simple. However, it is Christmas makeup so I have devised a gorgeous gold eye to team with a crimson pout.

Christmas Makeup- The Eyes

Start by prepping the eyes using Rimmel Magnif Eyes Primer. Starting with an eye primer gets rid of any oils on the lid and allows any products to properly adhere to your eyelid, therefore maximizing staying power.

Moving onto the eye shadow, I’m literally obsessed with the Diaries Palette by Pur Soiree – it’s amazing! It has 12 shades – 4 matte, 4 satin and 4 shimmer to help you create a huge variety of looks. I know were talking Christmas makeup but this palette is all year round and the novelty certainly won’t wear off.

I concentrated on 5 colors in the palette for this look.

Mogul is a matte finish champagne color, perfect to use for a transitional shade. I applied a light layer of this all over the lid finishing just above the eye socket.

Gala is a matte finish light tan shade that I like to use in the socket of the eye. It helps to create a subtle depth within the eye area.

Epic is a satin finish chocolate brown color. It is perfect for applying on the outer corner of the eye to add extra depth. Simply start from the outside and gently work the color in.

Glitzy and Twinkle, talk about all that glitters! These eyeshadows are to die for! I combined the two shades, copper and rose-gold. It was too hard to choose one. Pack this bespoke duo all over the lid for a super shimmery eye and give life to your Christmas makeup.

This Is Where The Magic Happens…

Since it’s Christmas makeup were planning for, I’m sharing some magic with you. It comes in the form of a liquid eye-shadow but it’s more like liquid gold. The Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter Glow Liquid Eyeshadows are out of this world.

For this look I suggest the shade Gold Goddess. The crushed pearl and glitter particles will give your eyes an incredible pop. Simply layer over your powder eyeshadow for a beautiful long-wearing, metallic gleaming eye. Amazing!

Wing It

To add some definition to the eye, you can add a wing or a black liner. My all time favorite ever liquid eyeliner is the Bourjois Liner.

The color is really opaque so you get an intense black line and the brush is super thin to help you create a super-precise line. I can’t live without this in my makeup kit. Finish off your eyes with a coating of mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

Get Flawless Skin

There are so many reasons why I have fallen in love with the EX1 Cosmetics foundation. It’s no wonder that the likes of makeup connossieur, Huda Kattan and supermodel Rosie HuntingtonWhitley have labeled the foundation “Incredible”.

This foundation offers a beautiful medium coverage that is buildable and looks exactly like skin. True color pigments and light diffusers work in harmony with your skin’s natural tone for a flawless and youthful finish. And ever better, its oil free and non-comedogenic so it wont clog your pores.

Cover Anything

The EX1 Concealer is as good as the foundation, so why not cover dark circles and add some highlights with it? Disguise late nights effortlessly and camouflage imperfections. Whilst it expertly covers blemishes it is still extremely light-weight and easy to blend.

It’s also worth mentioning that this product is antioxidant, rich in vitamin E and promotes the healing of blemishes. What more could you possibly want in a concealer? Oh and did I mention it’s only $10.

Contour, Contour, Contour

Time to add some shadows to your Christmas makeup with a nice bit of contouring. Accentuate your features with the Maybeline Master Contour Stick, its creamy consistency enables super easy blending for a flawless, chiselled look.

Apply the contour on the hollows of your cheek, around your forehead, a little on your nose and just below the jaw.

Let It Glow

Get the ultimate glow with the Illamasqua Beyond Powder in the shade Dynasty. Christmas makeup or everyday makeup, this illuminator will wow you. I have every shade from this range and they’re all fantastic, but since were concentrating on gold – this shade is perfect.

The pigment is incredible and you only need a tiny bit to get your cheekbones popping!

Get Lippy

The NYX Professional Makeup Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade ‘Madrid’ looks so class and expensive – I love this shade so much!

It’s somewhere between a true red and a deep red – it’s truly gorgeous and so easy to apply. It’s what we call a liquid lipstick that glides over the lips and dries matte. To apply, simply use the lip wand and brush over the lips. One coat is plenty – you’ll notice the pigment is really intense and lasts all day.

The Best Present Ever

As I mentioned earlier in the post, if red lipstick isn’t for you, try another color. This look will go with any colored lip – nude, brown, pink, peach, berry – literally anything! Speaking of different shades, I literally can’t get over the NYX Lip Lingerie Vault.

If you’re into your matte lipsticks this will dazzle you. It’s a set of 30 mini liquid lipsticks ranging from barely there nudes to chocolate browns and all shades in-between. There’s literally a shade for every occasion and its such a bargain, each lip color works out just over $2.50 each.

Hopefully reading through this post has given you a little inspiration for your Christmas makeup. To be honest, the makeup I discussed in this post is perfect for any party season. You can swap and change the colours used to mix it up a little – it’s all about finding the products that are right for you.
